Bird Song by Victoria Vox

Update: As of September 18, 2009, the Arketype version of Bird Song has now been put on YouTube .  It used to be that you had to have a Facebook login to see this video, but that’s changed.

Arketype’s animation of Vox’s “Bird Song” features moments of  sad truth about the impact of urban growth on our natural environment. The funny moment comes when you see Victoria strumming

voxbarher ukulele in the “tough bar”, as it’s called.  Since she’s singing about a tough situation then seeing her with her uke in the bar works well.

If you don’t have a Facebook account, (I couldn’t find Arketype’s version anywhere but on Facebook) you can see Victoria sing the song on YouTube.

Her famous trumpet technique is featured in this song and is stellar.  If you close your eyes you believe it is a muted trumpet.  This past summer, I sat in an impromptu workshop she gave at the Portland Ukefest 09 on trumpet technique. She was a great teacher and we all had a lot of fun trying to create the sound.  Much easier to listen to her do it  as she is unrivaled in her technique and sound.
